Sources
In Renta, a Source is the system from which Renta extracts data.
Sources can include applications such as Salesforce and HubSpot, databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL, file systems, event streams, as well as advertising platforms such as Facebook Ads and Google Ads.
Each Source is connected through a Renta connector, which continuously pulls data from the system and delivers it to your target destination — typically a data warehouse or data lake.
Renta handles schema changes, API updates, and incremental syncs automatically, ensuring your Source data stays accurate and up to date.
Source types
Renta supports two main types of Sources:
Source type | Description |
---|---|
ELT sources | These include applications, databases, advertising platforms, and file systems. Data is extracted, loaded into your storage Destination (such as a data warehouse or data lake), and then transformed as needed. |
Event stream sources | These capture real-time event data, such as user interactions from websites or apps. In addition to storage Destinations, event stream sources also support real-time Destinations, enabling immediate delivery of events to systems like Webhooks or the Facebook Conversions API. |
The following sections provide detailed instructions on adding Sources.
